EVP Product Development

Position Expectation

Arumai is hiring a highly qualified and motivated product development specialist to lead and build Arumai’s product development team. This position will be responsible for intitiating Arumai’s product portfolio including producing products in a couple of new product categories in the coming year. The position requires experience managing front-end US-based technology engineers and designers. 

Success requires marketing insight to derive key metrics and marketing specifications from our consumers, and translate those into cutting edge product innovations for the OTT products and solutions ecosystem.  

Position Description

Product Development

Implement and lead a unified product development process by managing internal  and external resources, across countries and functions, from consumer insights through to launch and post-launch product improvements.
Lead design and engineering teams to develop innovative and breakthrough solutions to design challenges with constraints on cost, quality and performance.
Plan & deliver product designs which meet specified performance and cost criteria within development budget and timetable.
Select, manage and maintain relationships with high quality, professional service providers

Team Building

Build and lead a high performing internal team of development and technical staff, while also leveraging external industrial designers, product designers, and vendor/factory resources to develop compelling new products.
Develop an innovation oriented culture.
Fuel a passion within small, creative team for designing and building innovative consumer products that will improve the lives of millions.


Assist the senior management team in the formulation of company strategy.
Create, in coordination with CEO Arumai’s technology and product road map


  Masters degree + 10 years experience minimum.  CS a +
Solid experience in directing a creative product development team, combining process management with the nurturing of a creative environment that encourages new ideas and innovation.
Experience leading dynamic brainstorming sessions.
Highly entrepreneurial self-starter and manager/coach. Very hands-on in defining objectives and producing deliverables in a fast-paced, build or die environment.
Demonstrated experience managing the full product development lifecycle, including product briefing, conceptual crafting, patent assessment, product line development, costing, prototyping, spec development, DFM and contract manufacturing.
Ability to travel.
Strong blend of analytical, decision-making, and creative problem solving skills
Technical expertise necessary to oversee and direct electronic and hardware design, plastics, documentation development, reliability testing and analysis, and patenting.
Excellent written and verbal English communication.


Small business/startup experience. Multimedia exposure a +.
Experience with consumer insight generation (human centered design process).
Interest in products for the developing world.
